Small Things Great Love Service Project

This year will provide our community with many ways to live out our mission of “fostering service to others”. “Inspired by Mother Teresa and rooted in our Catholic faith” we will have many service opportunities for our children, families, and staff to participate in. This is one way we can live out this year’s theme:

Not all of us can do great things.
But we can do small things with great love.”
-Mother Teresa

This will be called our Small Things, Great Love Project.  Each grade has chosen a month during the school year to sponsor an activity to raise funds for the charity of their choice. Our students, staff and families will have an opportunity to work together to do small things with great love. Look for more information to come in the newsletters each week.

May God bless you and your family with joy, peace and His grace.

Used Book Sale – 2nd & 3rd Grades RAISED $2,362 FOR THE HOME MAKERS OF HOPE

Our 2nd and 3rd grade class sponsored our Used Book Sale in the cafeteria on Thursday, November 2nd.  The classes collected and organized books donated by our families.  On November 2nd, our families came to the cafeteria with their children to purchase the used books.  So many families came and they were able to raise $2,362 for Home Makers of Hope, a faith-based organization that helps families struggling in poverty by providing essential furnishings.  One grandfather stated, “This was amazing.  It has been a long time since I have seen so many kids so excited about books!”  It really was a special afternoon.

Our 2nd & 3rd-grade classes did a simulation on what it was like to buy furnishings for an apartment with only $100 to understand the importance of helping organizations like Home Makers of Hope. Some of our students stood at the entrance of our sale to educate families on Home Makers of Hope and how they are each making a difference by supporting our Used Book Sale.

Thank you to all of our parents who spent so many hours organizing the books (by Lexile), you are truly a blessing and you have helped so many people through your service.  We also want to thank our teachers, students and families for all of their hard work and support! Click Here to View Flyer
