At Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School, our Student Council leads with faith, compassion, and action. Through Student Council Serves, students plan and participate in service initiatives that respond to real needs in our school, parish, and wider community. Inspired by the example of Saint Mother Teresa, our students learn that even small acts of love can make a big difference.
How Our Students Serve
Throughout the school year, Student Council members organize and promote service drives that encourage generosity, empathy, and responsibility among all students and families.
Current and Ongoing Service Initiatives Include:
- Children’s Clothing Drive
Collecting new and gently used clothing to support children and families in need. - Pet Food Drive
Gathering dry pet food to assist local shelters and families caring for animals. - Veterans Appreciation Day
A special service effort to honor and support veterans within our school community, including parents and family members. - Thanksgiving Food Drive
Providing nonperishable food items to help local families enjoy a warm and meaningful Thanksgiving. - Blanket Drive
Collecting blankets to offer comfort and warmth to those experiencing hardship. - Schoolwide Food Drives
Ongoing collections throughout the year to support local pantries and outreach organizations.
Faith in Action
Student Council Serves is more than a collection of drives—it is an opportunity for students to live out the Gospel by serving others with joy and humility.
“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
— Saint Mother Teresa
Through these service projects, our students grow as leaders rooted in faith, compassion, and a commitment to making Christ present in the world.
