Student Council is a student-based organization designed to promote civic responsibility and leadership among students. The Council provides a forum for student expression designed to promote positive student and faculty communication throughout the entire school. The Council plans special events and fundraisers that provide opportunities for a variety of philanthropic activities. The proceeds from Student Council fundraisers are used for a variety of purposes such as victims of natural disasters and cures for various illnesses. Their funds are also used to enhance and improve our school campus.
School Supply Drive
In honor of Mother Teresa’s birthday and canonization, the Student Council sponsors a school supply drive during the months of August and September. The school supplies are donated to other Diocesan schools in need of school supplies.
During the month of November, the Student Council sponsors a non-perishable food drive to benefit Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Food Pantry. The Student Council has performed this activity for many years and will continue to do so in honor of our special relationship with Most Holy Redeemer Church.
In honor of St. Valentine, the Student Council sells candy grams and carnations which students can purchase and have delivered to their friends, classmates and teachers.
Middle School Dance
During the month of March, the Student Council sponsors a Middle School Dance for the students in grades 6-8.
In honor of our Mother Mary, the Student Council collects supplies for babies and their mothers during the month of May. These supplies are donated to Catholic Charities.
Blessings and Blankets for Migrant Workers
In conjunction with Catholic Schools Week, the Student Council collects new and gently used blankets for migrant workers in Dade City.
Flavor Ice/Ice Cream/Tootsie Pops
Treats are sold after school on a weekly basis. Tootsie pops are sold on Mondays for 25 cents, Flavor ice is sold on Wednesdays for 25 cents, and ice cream is sold on Fridays for $1-$1.50.
