Student Council is a student-based organization designed to promote civic responsibility and leadership among students. The Council provides a forum for student expression designed to promote positive student and faculty communication throughout the entire school. They plan special events and provide opportunities and guidance for a variety of philanthropic activities.
- School Supply Drive
In honor of Mother Teresa’s birthday and canonization, the MTC Student Council is sponsoring a school supply drive during August and September for other schools in the Diocese that will benefit from receiving these supplies. As our mission statement dictates we are here to “foster service to others”.

- Food Drive
During the month of November the MTC Student Council sponsors a non-perishable food drive to benefit the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Food Pantry. This service project is one that the Student Council has performed for many years and which we continue in honor of our special relationship with Most Holy Redeemer Church.
During the month of February the MTC Student Council sells candy grams and or carnations which the students can purchase and have delivered to their friends, classmates and teachers. In honor of St. Valentine the students can express their care and support for one another.
- Middle School Dance
During the month of March the MTC Student Council sponsors a Middle School Dance for the students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
- Project Motherhood
During the Month of May, in honor of our Mother Mary, the MTC Student Council collects supplies for babies and mothers which are donated to Catholic Charities.
The proceeds from Student Council fundraisers are used for a variety purposes. They have donated funds to support the victims of natural disasters, memorial funds and to support cures for a variety of illnesses. Funds are also used to enhance and improve our school campus and the educational experience of our students.
- The “Guessing Jar”
During the year periodic fundraisers will be held as the students participate in guessing the amount of seasonal candy in a jar.
- Flavor Ice/Ice Cream/Tootsie Pops
Treats are sold after school on a weekly basis. Tootsie pops are sold on Mondays for 25 cents, Flavor ice is sold on Wednesdays for 25 cents, and ice cream is sold on Fridays for $1-$1.50.
